Pradhan Mantri UBI Yojana | Universal Basic Income Scheme or Monthly/Massik Bhatta Yojana for Poor and Unemployed
Many people in our country(especially the poor ones) suffered a lot due to the demonetization wave. Now, as per trustworthy sources, the government might declare a scheme during the Union budget 2017-18 to impress these people. PM Narendra Modi may launch the Universal Basic income Scheme or UBI Yojana. Under this scheme, a monthly allowance will be given to the eligible people. There are high chances that this scheme is going to be launched soon.
UBI Scheme -PM Monthly Bhatta Yojana
Eligibility – Poor and unemployed people will be entitled to take the benefits of this scheme. The exact eligibility criteria will soon be published in the official document.
Benefit – The main benefit of this scheme will be that a fixed monthly income will be given to the eligible people. This fixed monthly income or “Bhatta” is supposed to be around Rs. 1000.
How to Apply for Universal Basic Income(UBI) Scheme
Right now, it is not clear that how to apply. Once the official documentation is released, all clarification regarding the same will be made available. As per the sources, the government will launch a portal where eligible applicants have to apply online. During the application form filling, there details like Bank account etc. will be collected. After the successful submission of application form, applicants will get direct transfer of amount to their respective bank accounts.
Ex Finance Minister P.Chidambram thinks that this scheme should be launched with complete planning. According to him , if this maasik bhatta yojana gets launched without proper planning then government might face issues later on. Some other ministers said that this is a good scheme and will surely turn out to be beneficial.

The main beneficiaries of this scheme will be unemployed and poor people. Before providing the financial assistance, the records of applicants will be checked to make sure if they deserve the benefit or not. Many similar Bhatta schemes are already active in States like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Punjab etc. This scheme will be the first ever national level allowance scheme for poor and unemployed.
