Khadi & Village Industries Commission(KVIC) has a scheme named as – Pradhan Mantri Employment Generation Programme or pmegp in short. This is actually a Credit Linked subsidy program which is combination of Two old Schemes – Prime Minister Rojgar Yojana & Rural Employment Generation Programme. PMEGP Scheme 

This scheme will offer Financial Assistance (Loan) to all the eligible applicants. Interested Applicant must have planned a project to get benefit under PMEGP Scheme. The Funding Levels under this scheme will be –

Note –

  • Maximum Cost of the Project/Unit admissible under manufacturing sector is Rs. 25 Lakhs
  • Maximum Cost of the Project/Unit admissible under Business/Service sector is Rs. 10 Lakhs
  • The Balance Amount of Total Project Cost will be provided by Banks as Term Loan

Who is Eligible to Apply Under PMEGP Loan Scheme

  • Any Individual whose age is 18+ years is Eligible
  • There will be no income ceiling for assistance for setting up Projects under this Scheme
  • Applicant must have passed 8th standard
  • Assistance under this Scheme is valid for only new projects
  • Self Help Groups are also eligible to avail assistance under PMEGP Yojana
  •  Individual Entrepreneurs, Institutions, Co-operative Societies, Self Help Groups, Trusts can be the beneficiaries of this Scheme

  • Private Sector Scheduled Commercial Banks approved by State Level Task Force Committe

PMEGP Loan Scheme – Beneficiary List Preparation

  • It is done at the District Level by a task force which consists of members from KVIC. This Task force will be headed by District Magistrate/Deputy Commissioner/ Collector
  • KVIC Will prepare a Score Card
  • The Score Card will be basis of selection
  • Finally the Beneficiary List/Score Card will be made online

PMEGP Loan Yojana – Role of Banks

  • Bank will sanction 90% of the Project Cost (General Category)
  • The Sanction will be 95% for Special Category
  • Bank will Finance Capital Expenditure in form of the Term Loan

PMEGP Loan Interest Rate

  • Normal Rate of Interest will be charged 
  • Repayment Schedule will range between 3 to 7 years
